2027: Ex-Kwara TV GM, Oyeyiola Olatunde, Begins Senate Consultations in Kwara South

Former General Manager of Kwara Television, Oyeyiola Olatunde Micheals, has commenced a senatorial stakeholders and party consultation tour across the seven local government areas in Kwara South Senatorial District ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Oyeyiola, who declared his intention to contest for the Kwara South Senatorial seat, said the tour is aimed at engaging grassroots stakeholders and seeking the support of party leaders and constituents to represent the interests of the people at the National Assembly.

The former media chief began the consultation exercise in Irepodun Local Government, where he met with party leaders and community stakeholders in Omu-Aran, before proceeding to Oyun Local Government Area in Erin-Ile.

Speaking during the engagements, Oyeyiola expressed appreciation for what he described as overwhelming support, endorsements and warm reception from residents of the two local governments.

“I sincerely appreciate the leaders, stakeholders, party members, men and women, and our brothers and sisters who came out in large numbers to show solidarity. This journey is driven by the interest of our people and the desire to give Kwara South a stronger voice at the Senate,” he said.

He added that the consultations would continue across other local government areas in the senatorial district, stressing that his ambition is anchored on inclusive representation, people-oriented legislation and grassroots development.

Oyeyiola assured supporters of his commitment to running an issue-based campaign focused on economic empowerment, youth development and improved federal presence in Kwara South.

According to him, the senatorial project is not about personal ambition but about building a united political front that will advance the collective interests of Kwara South and the state at large.

The senatorial tour is expected to cover all seven local government areas in Kwara South in the coming days, as Oyeyiola intensifies consultations with party structures and community leaders.
