Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has appointed the Etsu Tsaragi, Alhaji Aliyu Abdullahi Kpotwa Goshi II, as the Ameerul-Hajj for the state’s contingent to the 2026 pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia.
The Ameerul-Hajj will lead pilgrims from Kwara State to the holy land and coordinate with relevant authorities to ensure their welfare and smooth participation throughout the pilgrimage.
According to a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Rafiu Ajakaye, preliminary activities for the 2026 Hajj have already commenced, while the main pilgrimage rites are scheduled for the last week of May 2026, corresponding with Dhul-Hijjah 1447AH.
The appointment is part of preparations by the state government to ensure hitch-free participation of Kwara pilgrims in the forthcoming Hajj exercise.
