Former Head of State, , has said President is working to safeguard Nigeria’s interests across all sectors of the economy.
Gowon made the remark on Saturday after paying a courtesy visit to the president at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Speaking with journalists after the meeting, the former Nigerian leader said he visited Tinubu to appreciate the efforts of his administration in addressing the country’s challenges.
“I came to see him and to thank him for all the good work that he’s doing for the country,” Gowon said.
“We had to look at all the good work that the president is doing and the progress that Nigeria is making economically and otherwise.”
Gowon noted that Tinubu is making efforts across different sectors, including political, economic and social development.
According to him, the administration is also confronting security challenges facing the country.
“The major problem that we have today is security, and he is doing everything to deal with those challenges for the good of all Nigerians,” he added.
He urged Nigerians to remain patient and continue supporting the government’s efforts to restore stability and unity in the country.
