Hon. Gbenga Oyekunle Power, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has officially declared his intention to contest the 2027 House of Representatives election for Ifelodun/Offa/Oyun Federal Constituency.
Power made the announcement on Monday during a grand Iftar and interactive session with party stakeholders at the Avalon Hotel in Offa. The event brought together ward chairmen, councillors, and executives of the APC across the local government.
The aspirant said his bid is rooted in service and not personal gain. He pointed to his long-term community interventions as proof of his readiness to manage public resources responsibly.

“I am not vying to embezzle or steal funds; I am going there to deliver the work you send me to do. I have constructed no fewer than 22 boreholes serving our communities over the years. I have passed this test of sacrifice, and I am fit to represent Ifelodun, Offa, and Oyun,” Power said.
He promised inclusive governance, adding that no one would be excluded from the decision-making process during his tenure.
Offa LGA APC Chairman, Hon. Nasiru Adekunle Moshood, praised Power for his consistency and support for the party despite not holding political office. Similarly, Offa Local Government Executive Chairman, Hon. Suleiman Olatunji Laaro, commended the aspirant for the Iftar initiative and pledged community support for the party’s eventual candidate.

The session, officiated by Prince Bola Olojoku, featured a question-and-answer segment where party executives assessed Power’s readiness on legislative and developmental issues. Power also announced a cash donation to the party, reinforcing his reputation as a reliable supporter and financier of APC activities in Kwara State.
