Former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, ex-Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi, and the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Nentawe Yilwatda, have paid condolence visits to Nasir el-Rufai over the death of his mother.
Hajiya Umma, mother of the former Kaduna governor, died in Egypt on Friday.

El-Rufai, who was in the custody of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), was reportedly released on compassionate grounds to attend her burial.
The condolence visits took place at his Kaduna residence, where several dignitaries, including Dikko Radda, Aminu Tambuwal, and Abubakar Malami, also paid their respects.

The development comes amid controversy surrounding his release without a court order.
