Eno reaffirms commitment to Ibom Deep Seaport project

Governor has reiterated his administration’s commitment to the implementation of the Ibom Deep Seaport project, describing it as critical to the economic future of .

The governor gave the assurance at the Government House in during the presentation of the project’s feasibility report by the technical committee.

Eno said the blue economy remains a key driver of socio-economic stability, expressing optimism that the long-awaited project, which began over two decades ago, would be realised under his administration.

He commended the technical committee for what he described as a detailed and professional report, noting that their efforts reflect commitment to the successful execution of the project.

Presenting the report, the committee chairman, , said the seaport is designed to boost economic growth, expand port capacity and improve ease of doing business through a Public-Private Partnership model.

She added that the project would support industrialisation through its integration with the Ibom Industrial City and operate as a Free Trade Zone, positioning it as a major transshipment hub in the region.
