The Inspector-General of Police, , has described the as a critical partner in intelligence gathering and grassroots security across the country.
Disu made the remark during a courtesy visit by PCRC leaders to the Force Headquarters in , commending the committee for its longstanding support to the Nigeria Police Force.
According to a statement issued by the PCRC Director of Global Communication and Media Relations, Olayemi Esan, the IGP noted that the committee has provided consistent material and moral support to police formations nationwide.
He also highlighted the group’s role in crisis prevention, noting that its grassroots intelligence network has been instrumental in maintaining peace during periods of tension.
The police chief recalled the committee’s contribution during a 10-day nationwide protest while he served as Commissioner of Police in Rivers State, saying their intervention helped maintain calm in the state.
