Asiwaju of Offa Holds Strategic Talks with APC National Chairman in Abuja

In the early hours of Thursday, the Asiwaju of Offa and Chairman of Avalon Group, Alhaji Tajudeen Owoyemi, held a closed-door meeting with the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, in Abuja.

The high-level discussion, according to sources, focused on pressing national issues, ranging from security and development to political inclusiveness of Offa indigenes in national leadership roles.

During the meeting, Owoyemi reiterated his commitment to Nigeria’s progress, particularly through his investments in tourism and other sectors. He emphasized the role of the private sector in driving sustainable development and expressed readiness to deepen collaboration with the ruling party on key national projects.

The Offa-born billionaire also used the occasion to appeal for greater recognition of Offa indigenes in political and career appointments at the federal level. According to him, “Offa sons and daughters have consistently demonstrated diligence, patriotism, and competence in national service. It is only fitting that they are considered for higher responsibilities in government.”

Owoyemi further raised concerns over the escalating insecurity in parts of Kwara, particularly in Kwara South and Kwara North, while linking it to the broader national challenge. He urged Prof. Nentawe to leverage his position as APC chairman to foster stronger collaborative security measures between government and communities.

“Your experience as a son of Plateau State, a region that has also faced insecurity challenges, places you in a strategic position to understand our concerns and drive lasting solutions,” Owoyemi was quoted as saying.

The meeting, political observers believe, underscores Owoyemi’s growing influence as a bridge between the business community and political leadership, especially in shaping conversations around security, economic reforms, and inclusiveness.

While details of the closed-door talks remain largely undisclosed, both men were said to have agreed on the need for synergy in addressing Nigeria’s pressing developmental and security challenges.
