Kwara Govt Advises Vigilance as Security Forces Raid Kidnappers’ Hideouts

The Kwara State Government has urged residents in parts of the state to remain vigilant and restrict outdoor movements to essential routines as security forces intensify operations against kidnappers in border communities.

The advisory, issued by the Commissioner for Communications, Mrs. Bolanle Olukoju, specifically applies to residents of Ekiti, Ifelodun, Isin, Oke Ero, and Irepodun Local Government Areas.

“We urge people to be very vigilant and limit their movements to only very necessary routines. That is to avoid being caught unawares as the kidnappers are fleeing their hideouts. We do not want law-abiding citizens to be affected,” the statement read.

Olukoju acknowledged the inconveniences the directive may cause but said it was necessary for public safety. She praised the combined security forces for their renewed efforts to flush out criminals from forests along Kwara and Kogi borders, urging them to sustain the momentum until the hideouts are completely dismantled.
