As part of its commitment to advancing agriculture and improving the livelihoods of rural farmers, the MOK Foundation has continued the “Empowering Farmers 2025” initiative by distributing vital farm inputs in the Agbamu community, Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara State.
The outreach, held this week, saw local farmers receive various agricultural supplies, including herbicides, insecticides, fertilizers, and spraying equipment—all aimed at boosting productivity and encouraging sustainable farming practices in the region.
According to the foundation, the program is designed to address the pressing challenges faced by smallholder farmers, especially the high cost and limited access to quality farming materials. The initiative not only seeks to improve crop yields but also to strengthen food security and promote economic empowerment within agrarian communities across the state.
Representatives of the MOK Foundation emphasized the importance of empowering grassroots farmers as a key strategy to ensure long-term development in the agricultural sector. They encouraged beneficiaries to make effective use of the inputs and adopt best practices for improved results.
Farmers in the community expressed their gratitude, describing the gesture as timely and impactful, especially as the new farming season begins.
The “Empowering Farmers 2025” program is expected to continue to other rural communities in Kwara State in the coming weeks, reinforcing the foundation’s mission to support inclusive and sustainable agricultural growth.
