Former Minister of Interior and National Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, has predicted that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will be defeated in the 2027 general elections, citing growing public dissatisfaction with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Aregbesola made the remarks in Ilorin on Sunday during the commissioning of the ADC’s Kwara State Secretariat, where he accused the APC of intimidating opposition members across the country.
“If the APC is truly confident in its strength, it wouldn’t need to aggressively hunt down the opposition,” he said. “Their actions, from Lagos to Kebbi to Kaduna, show desperation. They know they are not well-liked, and that will be to the advantage of the ADC.”
He further asserted that the ADC is emerging as a credible alternative capable of taking over power in Nigeria. “By the grace of God, the ADC will take over leadership in Nigeria and many states,” he said.
Aregbesola also dismissed the wave of politicians joining the APC, describing them as “enemies of the people whose presence is unwanted.”
