NAFDAC, Kano Govt Forge Partnership to Strengthen Public Health Regulation

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has pledged closer collaboration with the Kano State Government to enhance public health regulation and curb the circulation of substandard medicines in the state.

NAFDAC Director-General, Prof. Mojisola Christianah Adeyeye, conveyed the agency’s commitment in a letter addressed to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, commending his administration’s reforms and transformational leadership across critical sectors.

Prof. Adeyeye stated that the partnership will focus on improving drug distribution systems, enforcing ethical standards, and promoting access to safe, effective medical products in Kano.

She applauded Governor Yusuf’s ongoing healthcare reforms, describing them as vital to safeguarding public welfare and strengthening medical governance.

Governor Yusuf welcomed NAFDAC’s collaboration initiative, assuring the agency of his administration’s readiness to work closely with federal institutions to ensure effective regulation and improved public health standards in Kano State.

He also praised Prof. Adeyeye for her proactive leadership and the agency’s sustained efforts in protecting the health of Nigerians.
