The Monmodu-Jamiu Oyawoye Foundation Ltd/Gte (MJOF), an Offa-based philanthropic organisation renowned for its longstanding commitment to human development, has donated ₦10 million to the Kwara State Education Trust Fund (KwaraETF). The contribution is aimed at advancing access, quality, and equity across public schools in the state.
The gesture further strengthens the Oyawoye family’s rich legacy of scholarship and service, established by the late Aremo of Offa, Professor Jimoh Mosobalaje Olaloye Oyawoye — Africa’s first Professor of Geology and a distinguished statesman whose lifelong advocacy for education shaped generations across Nigeria and beyond.
Speaking on behalf of the Foundation, Prince AbdulGhaniyy Olukitibi Oyawoye, Chairman of MJOF, reaffirmed the family’s dedication to supporting educational development in Kwara State.
Our family has always believed that education remains the truest pathway to transformation. The Kwara State Government under the leadership of His Excellency Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has demonstrated exceptional resolve to invest in the future of young Kwarans through initiatives like the Education Trust Fund. We are proud to contribute to this vision and to continue the legacy of service and impact that our patriarch embodied throughout his life.
Chairman of the Kwara State Education Trust Fund Board, Col. AbdulWahab Ademola Lawal (PhD), commended the Foundation for its generosity and expressed the Board’s commitment to prudent utilisation of the funds.
This donation is both a tribute to legacy and a vote of confidence in our collective mission to rebuild and sustain education in Kwara. This act of visionary giving will directly impact students statewide — from classroom renewal to scholarship support.
Executive Secretary of the Fund, Oluwadamilola Amolegbe, described the contribution as “deeply symbolic and timely,” noting that it reflects a shared conviction in the transformative power of education.
The Fund confirmed that the ₦10 million donation will support ongoing projects under its Five-Year Education Development and Sustainability Agenda, including infrastructure upgrades, scholarships, and digital learning initiatives.
The Kwara State Education Trust Fund continues to call on individuals, organisations, and philanthropic bodies to partner in its mission to build a sustainable and inclusive future for education in the state.
