Tears of joy, heartfelt prayers and smiles filled the air in Offa, Kwara State, on Sunday as the Muhydeen Okunlola Kayode (MOK) Foundation distributed food items to hundreds of residents as part of its humanitarian outreach to support vulnerable members of the community.
The foundation distributed various food items, including rice, beans and semo, to over 3,000 residents during the exercise held at the foundation’s office in Offa.
The initiative, according to the foundation, is part of its continuous commitment to alleviating hunger and supporting families facing economic challenges.

Founder of the foundation, Muhydeen Okunlola Kayode, said the programme was inspired by the need to extend compassion and practical support to members of the community.
He noted that giving back to society remains a core value of the foundation.
“We believe that humanity is about lifting one another, especially during difficult times. This initiative is our little way of supporting families and reminding them that they are not alone,” he said.

Kayode added that the foundation would continue to expand its humanitarian activities to reach more people in need.
Also speaking, the Director of the foundation, Saheed Lawal, described the programme as a reflection of the organisation’s dedication to community service.
He said the food distribution exercise has become a consistent intervention of the foundation over the years.

“Our goal is simple — to support people and bring relief to families who may be struggling. Seeing the smiles and appreciation from beneficiaries today gives us the motivation to continue doing more,” Lawal said.
Some of the beneficiaries who spoke during the event expressed gratitude to the foundation for the gesture.
One of them, Mrs. Ramat Ajibola, said the support came at a time when many families were struggling with the rising cost of food.
“This food will go a long way in helping my family. May God continue to bless the founder and everyone supporting this foundation,” she said.

Another beneficiary, Mr. Suleiman Abdullahi, described the initiative as a lifeline for many residents.
“In times like this, what the MOK Foundation is doing means a lot to people like us. We are truly grateful,” he added.
The foundation reaffirmed its dedication to humanitarian service, noting that it will continue to implement initiatives aimed at improving the welfare of people and strengthening communities.
For many residents who benefited from the programme, the day was more than a food distribution exercise — it was a reminder that kindness and humanity still exist.
