As part of its unwavering commitment to advancing agriculture and improving the livelihoods of rural farmers, the MOK Foundation has continued its “Empowering Farmers 2025” initiative with a major distribution of essential farm inputs in the Patigi Emirate, Patigi Local Government Area of Kwara State.
The outreach, held earlier this week, brought together farmers from across the emirate who received a wide range of agricultural supplies—including herbicides, insecticides, fertilizers, and spraying equipment. These inputs are expected to significantly enhance farm productivity while encouraging more sustainable and efficient farming practices in the region.
According to the MOK Foundation, the program is carefully designed to tackle key challenges faced by smallholder farmers—particularly the rising cost and inaccessibility of quality farming materials. By equipping farmers with these essential resources, the initiative aims to improve crop yields, strengthen food security, and promote long-term economic empowerment in Kwara’s agrarian communities.
Foundation representatives stressed that empowering grassroots farmers is central to building a resilient and productive agricultural sector. They urged beneficiaries to use the distributed inputs wisely and embrace modern farming techniques for optimal results.
The farmers, in turn, expressed heartfelt appreciation for the gesture, describing it as timely and impactful—especially as the new planting season gets underway. For many, the support came just when it was needed most, renewing hope for a successful harvest year.
The “Empowering Farmers 2025” campaign is scheduled to continue in other rural communities across Kwara State in the coming weeks, reinforcing the MOK Foundation’s mission to drive inclusive and sustainable growth in agriculture.
