Chief Olayinka Fafoluyi, Senior Special Assistant to the Kwara State Governor on New Media, was on Monday, June 9, 2025, honoured with the prestigious title of Akeweje of Aran-Orin Kingdom by His Royal Majesty, Oba Joseph Oyeyipo Babalola, the Alaran of Aran-Orin.

The event, held at the town’s primary school playing ground, was marked by the unveiling and commissioning of landmark projects spearheaded by Chief Fafoluyi — a new borehole providing potable water, the installation of 32 solar-powered streetlights, and the groundbreaking of the AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq Corpers’ Lodge, a multimillion-naira facility designed to improve the welfare of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members serving in the community.

In his address, Chief Fafoluyi attributed these accomplishments to divine grace and the mentorship of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, who he praised for his relentless investment in Kwara’s youth and the empowerment of young leaders in his administration.
Expressing gratitude to Oba Babalola for the royal honour, Chief Fafoluyi reaffirmed his dedication to the continued development and cultural preservation of Aran-Orin. The monarch, in his remarks, lauded Fafoluyi’s consistent generosity and service to the community, wishing him a long and impactful tenure as Akeweje.

The occasion also featured notable guests, including Retired Major-General Olayemi Lasisi Abidoye, who represented the governor, as well as the Olomu of Omu-Aran, Oba AbdulRaheem Oladele Adeoti, who despite a heavy downpour, commissioned the projects and performed the lodge’s groundbreaking ceremony.

Dignitaries from across Kwara State, members of the Irepodun Traditional Rulers Council, politicians, Nollywood stars, friends, family, and well-wishers graced the colourful event.

Chief Fafoluyi vowed to intensify his efforts towards empowering the youth and advancing socio-economic progress in Aran-Orin, saying:
“I remain fully committed to the prosperity, unity, and growth of Aran-Orin Kingdom and will continue to serve her with pride and integrity.”
