The Muyideen Okunola Kayode (MOK) Foundation has extended its congratulations to Kwara United Football Club following their historic victory in the 2025 President Federation Cup.
The Foundation describes the achievement as a reward for the team’s hard work, resilience, and the collective support of the people of Kwara State.
In a statement issued by the Director, Mr. Saheed Lawal, on behalf of the founder, Qs Muhydeen Okunlola Kayode, and made available to journalists shortly after Kwara United’s dramatic penalty shootout win over Abakaliki FC at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos, the foundation expressed immense pride and joy over the Harmony Boys’ first-ever Federation Cup title.
“This triumph is a testament to the team’s unwavering determination and the unflinching support of Kwarans who stood behind them throughout the tournament.
“We congratulate the players, technical crew, management, and every stakeholder who contributed to this momentous achievement.
“We believe this success will inspire a new generation of young talents in Kwara to pursue their dreams in football and other sports,” the statement says inter-alia.
The MOK Foundation noted that the victory has not only etched the club’s name in the annals of Nigerian football history but also secured them a coveted spot in the CAF Confederation Cup.
Mr. Lawal also reaffirmed the foundation’s commitment to supporting grassroots sports development across the state.
The foundation also lauded the State Government under Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for its sustained investment in sports, as well as fans, supporters’ clubs, philanthropists, and community leaders whose encouragement played a vital role in the team’s success.
MOK Foundation subsequently urged the team to build on this historic feat and continue to make Kwara and the entire country proud, as Kwara United prepares to represent Nigeria on the continental stage.
