The Students’ Union Government (SUG) of the Kwara State College of Health Technology, Offa, has distanced itself from a viral report titled “Offa Students Slam Kwara Governor Over False Hostel Construction Claims.”
In an official statement signed by SUG President Babatunde Olamilekan Matthew, the Union emphasized it had no hand in the report and disclaimed knowledge of its source or intent, declaring it does not represent the collective stance of the student body.
While acknowledging the need for hostel renovations, the SUG affirmed its commitment to addressing such issues through “constructive engagement” with school authorities and relevant government agencies—not through politically motivated media campaigns.
The Union also cautioned political actors against exploiting student welfare for propaganda purposes, stating that any official communication regarding student affairs would come directly from the SUG.
“We urge the public to disregard the report and remain assured of our commitment to responsible dialogue in advancing students’ interests,” the statement concluded.
