MOK Foundation Expands Humanitarian Reach, Empowers Communities in 2025

The MOK Foundation has recorded significant progress in its humanitarian services, impacting thousands of lives across Kwara State as part of its sustained commitment to community development and social welfare.

In its 2025 Humanitarian Services Impact Report, the foundation disclosed that it has, over the past two years, steadily expanded its outreach, with this year marking a major milestone in the scale and consistency of its interventions. A key highlight of the year was the expansion of weekly cash empowerment programmes, particularly in Offa town, where a growing number of residents benefitted from direct financial support.

Speaking on the achievements, the Executive Director of the Foundation, Mr. Saheed Lawal, explained that the cash donations were deliberately targeted at petty traders and small-scale business owners to help them achieve economic stability and self-reliance.

“The small amounts we have been able to provide are critical in helping individuals strive towards self-sufficiency and independence. For many beneficiaries, this support serves as a lifeline that enables them to sustain their businesses and meet basic household needs,” Lawal said.

Beyond cash assistance, the MOK Foundation implemented several complementary programmes aimed at strengthening livelihoods and empowering vulnerable groups. Youth engagement remained a major focus, with initiatives designed to promote skills acquisition, entrepreneurship, and productive engagement among young people.

The foundation also provided artisans with essential tools and working equipment, significantly improving their capacity to operate efficiently and earn sustainable incomes. According to the foundation, this intervention has helped many beneficiaries scale their trades and reduce unemployment at the grassroots level.

In line with its inclusive humanitarian vision, the MOK Foundation extended support to underprivileged individuals and persons living with disabilities by supplying backup equipment and other essential resources to enhance their quality of life and daily productivity.

Mr. Lawal noted that each year, the foundation evaluates and strengthens its programmes to ensure greater impact, stressing that the 2025 interventions surpassed those of previous years in both reach and effectiveness.

Looking ahead, the foundation reaffirmed its commitment to expanding its humanitarian footprint, with plans to scale up existing programmes and introduce new initiatives by 2027.

Guided by the vision of its founder, Alhaji Muhydeen Okunlola Kayode, the MOK Foundation says it remains resolute in its mission to uplift vulnerable populations, empower communities, and put smiles on the faces of those most in need.
