MOK Foundation begins JAMB e-PIN generation for 1,000 Kwara students, unveils free radio coaching

The Muhydeen Okunlola Kayode (MOK) Foundation has commenced the generation and distribution of Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) e-PINs and free forms to 1,000 beneficiaries across the 16 local government areas of Kwara State.

The exercise, which began on Thursday at the foundation’s headquarters on Ibrahim Taiwo Road, Offa, attracted students from various parts of the state for documentation, verification and onboarding into the scholarship programme.

Speaking at the flag-off, the Executive Director of the foundation, Saheed Lawal, said the initiative reflects the organisation’s sustained commitment to educational development and youth empowerment across Kwara State.

According to him, the programme started three years ago with just 200 beneficiaries but has steadily expanded to 1,000 students due to the founder’s dedication to supporting access to higher education.

“This intervention is part of our efforts to reduce the financial burden on indigent students and expand access to tertiary education,” Lawal said. “We want beneficiaries to take this opportunity seriously and make the most of it. The process will be smooth and hitch-free if everyone remains orderly and punctual.”

He disclosed that beneficiaries were drawn from communities across the state and urged them to remain focused and disciplined in their academic pursuits.

Lawal also revealed that the foundation had earlier provided 300 free WAEC forms for students across Kwara State, underscoring its expanding educational intervention initiatives.

As part of activities lined up for the JAMB scholarship exercise, beneficiaries participated in academic mentoring and motivational sessions facilitated by Aderemi Oladepo Abdulwakel, a specialist in teaching Mathematics and Physics in the Yoruba language.

Oladepo guided the students on examination strategies and encouraged them to aim for excellence in the forthcoming Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination.

The event was marked by excitement and gratitude from beneficiaries, many of whom described the opportunity as life-changing.

One of the beneficiaries recounted how she had previously dropped out of school due to financial challenges and almost abandoned her academic ambitions before being selected for the scholarship.

“I had already given up on returning to school because of financial constraints. This opportunity has restored my hope. I sincerely appreciate the founder of MOK Foundation, Alhaji Muhydeen Okunlola Kayode, for giving me another chance to pursue my dream,” she said.

Meanwhile, the founder of the foundation, Alhaji Muhydeen Okunlola Kayode, has announced plans to sponsor free radio coaching programmes for JAMB candidates across Kwara State.

Lawal said the radio tutorial initiative will provide academic support for candidates preparing for the UTME, especially those in remote communities without access to private coaching centres.

The coaching sessions will be anchored by Oladepo, who will teach core science subjects using the Yoruba language to enhance understanding and inclusivity among students.

He noted that the free radio coaching would complement the ongoing scholarship scheme and further support candidates preparing for higher education.

Beneficiaries at the event expressed appreciation to the foundation and its founder, pledging to justify the investment in their education through outstanding academic performance and good conduct.
