Olaoye’s Media Office Debunks Report of Rice Distribution in Kwara South

The media office of Hon. Chief Oluwasegun Olaoye, the Babalaje of Oro Kingdom and a leading aspirant for the Isin/Oke-Ero/Ekiti/Irepodun Federal Constituency seat in 2027, has dismissed as false a viral report claiming he distributed over 600 bags of rice in the Irewolede axis of Kwara South.

In a statement made available to journalists, the team described the report, which alleged that the distribution took place on March 9, 2026, as misleading and factually incorrect.

According to the statement, no such empowerment or palliative distribution has been carried out by the politician this month, adding that the photographs circulating online are old images from a previous empowerment programme held several years ago.

“We want to state categorically that Hon. Chief Oluwasegun Olaoye did not carry out any rice distribution as currently being reported. The pictures circulating are archived images from past philanthropic activities,” the statement read.

The media office urged members of the public and supporters to disregard the report, stressing that it does not reflect the current activities or schedule of the aspirant.

While debunking the report, the team disclosed that preparations were ongoing for a major empowerment initiative that would cover the four local government areas in the federal constituency — Irepodun, Isin, Ekiti and Oke-Ero.

The programme, described as a “Giant Empowerment Programme,” is expected to focus on sustainable socio-economic support for youths, women and other vulnerable groups across the constituency.

The team also thanked supporters for their continued interest in Olaoye’s 2027 House of Representatives aspiration, urging them to rely only on information released through the official communication channels.

“Our principal remains deeply committed to the wellbeing of the people. When the new empowerment programme is ready, it will be communicated transparently across all relevant platforms,” the statement added.
