Eid-el-Fitr: Yahaya Seriki calls for peace, unity, collective responsibility in Kwara

Ambassador has extended felicitations to the Muslim Ummah and residents of Kwara State on the occasion of Eid-el-Fitr, marking the end of the Ramadan fast.

In a statement issued on Thursday, Seriki congratulated Muslims on their devotion, sacrifice, and steadfastness throughout the holy month, praying that Allah accepts their acts of worship and rewards them abundantly.

He urged the faithful to sustain the lessons of Ramadan, including discipline, patience, sacrifice, and compassion, noting that such virtues are essential for effective leadership, good governance, and peaceful coexistence.

Seriki also called on political leaders, stakeholders, and citizens to prioritise the collective interest of the state above personal and sectional considerations, stressing that sustainable development can only thrive in an atmosphere of peace, unity, and mutual understanding.

“At a time when our state and nation require deep reflection and responsible leadership, we must all commit ourselves to promoting peace, strengthening our unity, and fostering an environment where every citizen can live and thrive without fear,” he said.

He further advised youths to shun acts capable of causing division or violence, urging them instead to become agents of positive change and ambassadors of peace.

The ambassador reaffirmed his commitment to the progress and inclusive development of Kwara State, adding that meaningful growth can only be achieved through collective responsibility and a shared vision.

He wished residents of the state a peaceful and joyous Eid celebration, praying that the season brings renewed hope, progress, and lasting harmony.
