As political conversations ahead of the 2027 governorship election gather momentum, a public affairs commentator, Julius Olatunji, has called for greater citizen participation and responsible leadership anchored on the philosophy of “Kwara Tiwa Ni” (Our Kwara).
In an article, Olatunji described Kwara State as a shared heritage that requires collective ownership, accountability, and active involvement of citizens in governance, stressing that the future of the state must be shaped by its people.
He said the concept of “Kwara Tiwa Ni” represents ideals of ownership, responsibility, and continuity of development, urging leaders to adopt grassroots-driven policies that reflect the needs and aspirations of the people.
The commentator, however, identified Femi Sanni as a candidate who embodies these principles, citing his technical background, focus on infrastructure development, youth empowerment, and inclusive governance.
Olatunji added that the 2027 election presents an opportunity for Kwarans to prioritise competence, vision, and long-term development over sentiments, calling for unity across ethnic, generational, and political divides.
He urged citizens to support leadership that promotes transparency, innovation, and sustainable growth, noting that the collective will of the people remains key to building a prosperous and forward-looking Kwara.
