Honourable Azeez Adisa-Jaji (AAJ) has paid the school fees of 100 secondary school students drawn from seven wards in Ilorin North West Constituency, Kwara State, in a move aimed at easing the financial burden on struggling families.
The beneficiaries were selected from Alanamu, Ajikobi, Adewole, Ubandawaki, Oju Ekun, Ogidi and Oloje wards in Ilorin West Local Government Area.
Speaking on the initiative, Adisa-Jaji said the gesture was driven by the current economic realities facing many households, which have made it difficult for parents to meet basic educational obligations.
“I realised that many families are finding it difficult to pay school fees because of the present economic situation in the country. I deemed it necessary to step in and support these students so they can continue their education without interruption,” he said.
Represented at the presentation by Mohammed Jamiu Olokogboro, the lawmaker said the cash support released to the beneficiaries would enable them to settle their fees promptly and focus on their studies.
The intervention has continued to attract commendations from various wards and party structures across the constituency.
In Ajikobi Ward, the PDP Youth Wing, through a statement signed by the Ajikobi Youth Leader and Emirate Ward Youth Leader Chairman, Hon. Abdulhafeez Sidiq Mannah, praised the initiative, describing it as timely and impactful.
