Kabiru Turaki meets Seyi Makinde, Bala Mohammed over PDP e-registration rollout

Kabiru Turaki, factional national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has met with key chieftains of the party, including Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde and Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed, to finalise modalities for the rollout of the party’s electronic membership registration.

The meeting, which also involved the PDP’s 37 state chairmen, focused on coordinating the implementation of the digital registration exercise across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

In a statement issued on Sunday, the national publicity secretary of the Turaki-led faction, Ini Ememobong, said the e-registration exercise would commence on Monday and run for three weeks nationwide.

According to the statement, the digital platform is aimed at sanitising the party’s membership database, enhancing transparency, and strengthening internal structures ahead of future political activities.

Turaki was quoted as urging party leaders at all levels to mobilise members and ensure seamless participation in the exercise, describing the initiative as a critical step toward repositioning the PDP.

The statement added that the involvement of governors and state chairmen was to guarantee uniformity, credibility, and effective supervision of the process across all states and the FCT.

The development comes amid ongoing internal realignments within the opposition party, with stakeholders seeking to consolidate structures through technology-driven reforms.
