A former House of Representatives aspirant for Ilorin East/Ilorin South Federal Constituency on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, Amb. Ibrahim Tajudeen Shola (Olesin), has accused Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of sidelining him and frustrating the party’s primary election process.
In a letter dated July 13, 2026, and addressed to the governor through the APC State Chairman and the party’s Reconciliation Committee, Olesin alleged that the primary election was halted after party members had assembled to vote, paving the way for the emergence of what he described as the governor’s preferred aspirant.
The aspirant said he remained a loyal member of the APC, having contributed financially and politically to the growth of the party over the years, adding that he complied with all constitutional requirements for the primary election.
According to him, he invested significant time, resources and personal engagements in consulting party members and stakeholders across the constituency in preparation for the exercise.

Olesin alleged that despite several attempts to meet Governor AbdulRazaq before the primary, he was neither granted an audience nor given any feedback regarding his aspiration.
He further claimed that on the day scheduled for the direct primary, some political elders informed him that the governor had settled for another aspirant, insisting that any preference should have been pursued through a lawful consensus process before the commencement of the primary election.
The former aspirant maintained that the abrupt suspension of the exercise denied thousands of APC members the opportunity to elect their candidate through a democratic process.
While stressing that his grievance was with the conduct of the primary rather than the APC as a political party, Olesin said the process left him feeling ignored and undervalued despite his years of loyalty and contributions.

He expressed hope that the APC Reconciliation Committee would address the concerns of aggrieved members and strengthen internal democracy within the party.
The letter comes amid ongoing reconciliation efforts by the Kwara APC following disagreements arising from the party’s recently concluded primary elections.
