“Right to Write initiatives” of the MOK Foundation, has made significant strides in its mission to improve educational access across Kwara State. Since its official launch on the 13th of May 2025, the foundation has successfully reached out to a total of 72 schools within a remarkable timeframe of just three months. The initiative kickstarted at St. Cyprian Primary School and Ansarul Primary School in Offa, where over 200 pupils received essential writing materials, with school fees covered for 80 of these students.
As the initiative gained momentum, on May 15, the foundation’s dedicated team expanded their efforts, visiting an additional 13 public primary schools located in Offa township. This outreach benefited more than 500 pupils, with notable participation from schools such as Ogidiri LGEA School, Ogidiri AC LGEA School (Ogidiri II), Itafa Baptist LGEA School, Olugbense LGEA School, Ansar-ul-Islam LGEA School, Tawakalitu Primary LGEA School, Egunkara LGEA School, St. James I LGEA School, St. James II LGEA School, Wesley I LGEA School, Agun Baptist LGEA School, First Baptist LGEA School, Taoheed LGEA School and several others. The overwhelming gratitude from teachers, parents, and guardians was a testament to the positive impact of the foundation during this period.
Continuing its mission to ensure that no child is left behind, on May 16, 2025, the foundation team hits Oyun and Irepodun Local Government Areas (LGAs) to reach even more public primary schools. Essential writing materials were distributed, and school fees were covered for students in various schools, including Community LGEA Primary School in Igbonna, Community LGEA Primary School in Kere Aje, and the Community LGEA School in Sekongba, Gudugba (Oyun LGA), Agara Community Primary School (Oyun LGA), Ansar-ul-Islam Primary School, Igbonla (Irepodun LGA), Community Primary School, Igbonla (Irepodun LGA), Amberi Community LGEA Primary School (Irepodun LGA), Igbonla primary school among others. The initiative continued its outreach on May 23, benefiting schools such as Oore Community Primary School, ECWA Primary School in Agbeku, and St. Michael Primary School in Omupo, significantly enhancing the educational experience for students in these areas.
By May 29, the foundation focused on marginalized communities in Kwara North, where thousands of pupils were included in the outreach. This effort was met with immense appreciation from teachers and parents alike, as schools like Tako Gabi LGEA Primary School, Kuchita LGEA Primary School, Etsu Umar LGEA Primary School, Tsadza LGEA Primary School, Etsu Umar LGEA Primary School, Amanzuma LGEA Primary School, Etsu Saadu LGEA Primary School received vital support. On June 4, the distribution team returned to Kwara South, providing pencils and covering school fees for additional students at St. Matthew Primary School in Ikotun Oyun LG and Ansarul Islam Primary School, ensuring continued educational support.
The foundation’s commitment remained steadfast through the summer months, with Eleyoka Primary School in Irepodun LG receiving aid on July 18. Following that, on July 22, Emmanuel Primary School, Surajudeen Primary School, and St. Martha’s Primary School in Erin-Ile and Igosun, alongside Muslim LGEA School and Baptist LGEA School in Igosun, were beneficiaries of the foundation’s efforts. The team continued its support by visiting Ecwa Primary School in Eji Oyo Ipo in July and made their way to Ijagbo town on August 14, where numerous schools benefited immensely from their dedicated initiatives. The positive feedback received from the Ijagbo Youth Organisation highlighted the significant impact of these efforts.
Founded in 2023 by QS Muhydeen Okunlola Kayode, the MOK Foundation prioritizes not only education but also health, agriculture, and empowerment, ensuring a holistic approach to community development and support. Through the Right to Write Imitiatives, the organization demonstrates a profound commitment to nurturing the potentials of children.
