A former Chairman of the Kwara Geographic Information Service, Akintade Shittu Abdulmutalib, popularly identified with the campaign slogan, “Afára Lánaá, Lónìí àti Lọ́la,” has formally declared his intention to contest for the House of Representatives seat for the Offa/Oyun/Ifelodun Federal Constituency under the platform of the All Progressives Congress ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Akintade made the declaration at Sofoluwe Hall, Offa Grammar School, where party leaders, political stakeholders, youths, women groups, and supporters gathered to witness the event.
Among dignitaries present at the programme were the APC Chairman in Offa Local Government, Prince Nasiru Adekunle Mashood Adegboye (Kunle Papa); APC Chairman in Oyun Local Government, Mr Kayode Michael Adewoye; APC Oyun Local Government Treasurer, Jimoh K. Rasheed; Bankole Sheriff; Hon. Molik Aremu, Coordinator of Ifelodun; Alhaji Kasali Yusuf; and Hon. Isaac Afolayan, alongside several party executives and community stakeholders.

Speaking during the declaration, the aspirant said his ambition was driven by the need to provide focused and effective representation capable of addressing unemployment, economic hardship, poor access to opportunities, and inadequate social support affecting communities across Offa, Oyun, and Ifelodun.
He said the constituency deserved stronger representation at the National Assembly, stressing that many young people remained unemployed while traders, farmers, and women-owned businesses continued to struggle with limited access to funding and government support.
“Our constituency has not received the level of focused and effective representation it deserves. Our voices have not been heard loud enough in Abuja, and that must change,” Shittu said.
The APC aspirant pledged to champion legislation and policies aimed at expanding access to credit for small businesses, strengthening vocational and digital skills training, improving agricultural support systems, and attracting federal projects in infrastructure, education, and healthcare to the constituency.

He also promised to facilitate access to federal intervention programmes for youths, women, artisans, and vulnerable groups while ensuring proper implementation of approved projects within the constituency.
In separate remarks, the party leaders and stakeholders commended Shittu’s grassroots engagement and described his aspiration as a step towards purposeful representation for the constituency. They urged party members and residents across Offa, Oyun, and Ifelodun to remain united and committed to the ideals of the APC ahead of the 2027 elections.
Akintade further emphasised the need for unity among the people of Offa, Oyun, and Ifelodun, describing the constituency as “one family” whose progress depends on collective cooperation and inclusive leadership.
“This is not about promises; this is about results. Together, we can build a constituency that works for everyone,” he added.
