Akintade declares for Reps seat, submits letter of intent to Kwara APC

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Akintade Abdulmutaib Shittu, has formally declared his intention to contest for the House of Representatives seat representing Ifelodun/Offa/Oyun Federal Constituency of Kwara State.

Shittu conveyed his intention in a letter submitted to the APC State Working Committee in Ilorin ahead of the forthcoming general elections.

In the letter dated April 27, 2026, the aspirant said his decision followed extensive consultations and engagements with stakeholders and residents across the constituency.

He stated that his aspiration was driven by the desire to provide “practical, responsive and impact-driven representation” for the people of Ifelodun, Offa and Oyun local government areas.

According to him, the constituency deserves representation that prioritises the concerns, hopes and aspirations of the people while ensuring that government policies and programmes translate into tangible benefits at the grassroots.

Shittu said his experience in public service had equipped him with the capacity to strengthen institutions, improve access to opportunities and deliver people-oriented results.

He also drew inspiration from the leadership style of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, whom he described as a leader committed to discipline, humility and results-oriented governance.

The APC aspirant added that he would commence consultations with party structures across wards and local government areas in the constituency as part of efforts to deepen engagement with stakeholders and promote unity within the party.

He pledged to focus on initiatives aimed at youth empowerment, infrastructure development and addressing the socio-economic needs of communities across the federal constituency.

Shittu appealed for the support, cooperation and guidance of the APC leadership and members as he seeks the party’s nomination for the seat.

“I remain committed to the ideals and unity of our great party,” he stated.
