President has criticised opposition politicians, accusing them of undermining democratic values while publicly claiming to uphold them.
Tinubu made the remarks on Tuesday while hosting a delegation of political leaders from at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
According to a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, , the delegation was led by Governor .
The President said some opposition figures preach democracy but fail to practice its core principles, accusing them of actions that weaken democratic institutions and processes.
He stressed the need for sincerity, consistency, and respect for democratic norms among political actors, noting that democracy thrives on accountability, transparency, and adherence to the rule of law.
Tinubu also used the occasion to reiterate his administration’s commitment to strengthening democratic governance and fostering national unity.
The meeting formed part of ongoing engagements between the Presidency and political stakeholders across the country.
