Workers’ Day: Akintade Shittu Hails Nigerian Workers, Calls for Improved Welfare

An aspirant for the Ifelodun/Offa/Oyun Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives, Akintade AbdulMutalib Shittu, has commended Nigerian workers for their resilience, dedication, and contributions to national development as the country marked the 2026 International Workers’ Day celebration.

In a statement issued on Friday, Shittu congratulated workers across Ifelodun, Offa, and Oyun local government areas, as well as the nation at large, describing them as the driving force behind the growth of communities and institutions.

The aspirant praised the sacrifices of workers across various sectors, including civil servants, teachers, health workers, artisans, traders, transport workers, security personnel, and entrepreneurs, noting that their commitment continues to sustain the economy despite prevailing challenges.

According to him, Workers’ Day provides an opportunity to reflect on the importance of creating better welfare conditions and a supportive environment that would enable workers to thrive productively.

Shittu particularly applauded Nigerian workers for what he described as their resilience and patriotism in the face of economic and social difficulties confronting the country.

He also reaffirmed his commitment to supporting policies and initiatives aimed at promoting youth empowerment, job creation, economic growth, and improved welfare for workers and their families.

The House of Representatives hopeful urged workers to remain steadfast and committed to excellence in their various fields, expressing optimism that collective dedication and unity would help build a stronger and more inclusive society.
