A stalwart of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and advocate of good governance, Otunba Adetunji Oyabambi (OAO), has criticized what he described as the ineffective and detached representation of the Ifelodun, Offa, and Oyun Federal Constituency at the National Assembly.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, Oyabambi said the people of the constituency have been shortchanged by a lack of proactive engagement, empathy, and visible development efforts from their elected representative, Hon. Tijani Ismail.
“The people who entrusted Hon. Tijani Ismail with their mandate deserve empathy, courage, and proactive leadership — not silence and detachment,” Oyabambi said. “Leadership is a sacred responsibility, and when elected officials fail to connect with the people and advance their welfare, they fall short of the trust placed in them.”
He lamented the absence of meaningful constituency projects and interventions, noting that residents have grown increasingly disillusioned due to a lack of tangible results.
“Our constituency deserves better. We cannot point to significant interventions, constituency projects, or developmental efforts facilitated through our current representation,” he added.
Oyabambi urged constituents to demand accountability and transparency from their representatives, emphasizing that democracy only thrives when leaders remain answerable to the people.
“Enough of ineffective representation. The time has come for leadership that truly serves the people and restores confidence in our democracy,” he declared.
