Police Arrest 33 Suspects Over Church Attack in Kwara

The has arrested 33 suspects linked to the November 20, 2025 attack on a in Eruku, , as part of ongoing operations to dismantle criminal networks.

Those arrested include Abubakar Usman (Siddi), Ibrahim Sa’idu (Idi Soho), Adamu Mohammad (Baushe/Dogo), Abdullahi Abubakar (Bature), Abubakar Abdullahi (Turke), Yusufa Isah (Munyaye), Zubairu Abubakar, Shaibu Usman, Mohammed Lawai (Jalel), Dahiru Adamu Mohammedu, Mohammadu Audu (Alti), Dahiru Alh Ahmadu, Iliyasu Umar (Magaji), Usman Alh Mati (Saidu), Umar Mohammed (Mulandan), Shehu Usman Mohammedu, Mohammadu Ali (Jabbi/Ruwa), Abubakar Mamman, Mohammadu Alti, Idris Auwal (Samaila), Ajiboye Biodun, Lawali Shehu, Mohammadu Sani (Kachalla Ruga), Musa Ado (Maidu), Abubakar Adamu (Buba), Mohammadu Zangina (Zangina), Abubakar Shaibu (Jijji), Mohammadu Salihu (Fulani), Mohammadu Musa, Abubakar Sani (Siddi), Yusufa Isah (Leriya), Mohammadu Ibrahim (Iro), and Umar Mohammed Jos.

The suspects were apprehended across multiple locations, including Gbugbu, Ora-Ago, Babanla, Kaiama, Awi, Charagi, Patigi, and Okeode, following coordinated security operations.

Police sources disclosed that several of the suspects attempted to flee during the operations, abandoning weapons which were later recovered by operatives.

Items recovered include seven AK-47 rifles, magazines, an anti-aircraft launcher, an anti-aircraft rifle, 32 rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition, walkie-talkie communication devices, and a camouflage hydration backpack.

The police described the arrests as a major breakthrough in efforts to curb violent crimes and restore peace in affected communities, adding that investigations are ongoing and the suspects will be charged to court upon completion of inquiries.
