The Benue State Police Command has arrested seven suspected militia herdsmen in connection with the abduction of passengers, including candidates of the (JAMB), along the Makurdi–Otukpo highway.
The victims, who were travelling in an 18-seater Benue Links bus to Otukpo for their examinations, have all regained their freedom.
Police authorities said the suspects were apprehended following coordinated security operations aimed at tackling criminal activities along major routes in the state.
The command also confirmed that the rescued passengers are safe, bringing relief to families and communities affected by the incident.
