Azeez Adisa-Jaji (AAJ), an aspirant for the Kwara State House of Assembly, Ilorin North West Constituency 2027, has criticised attempts to link Bukola Saraki to the 2018 Offa Robbery, describing such claims as false and politically motivated.
In a press statement, AAJ said, “The ongoing attempt to drag our leader, the former Senate President, Abubakar Bukola Saraki, CON, Wazirin Ngeri of Ilorin, into the tragic events of the 2018 Offa Robbery is not only false, it is a deliberate act of political mischief that must be called out for what it is.”
He added, “Let it be made unequivocally clear: there is no credible evidence, none whatsoever, linking Dr. Saraki to that crime. The matter was investigated, prosecuted, and concluded within the framework of the law. Those responsible have been convicted. Any attempt to reopen or distort this settled issue is nothing more than desperation dressed up as public discourse.”
AAJ further stated, “This pattern of recycling a painful tragedy for political mileage is reckless and dishonourable. It trivialises the suffering of victims and their families, while exposing a troubling lack of ideas among those who resort to such tactics.”
Addressing governance concerns, he said, “Kwarans are not asking for recycled accusations. They are asking for jobs, security, economic opportunity, and competent governance. And on these fronts, the Kwara State APC, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq-led government has failed—completely and woefully.”
He continued, “Worse still, judging by the distractions and tactics it continues to deploy—including the resurfacing of the Offa tragedy, it is evident that this administration is prepared to squander the remaining months of its tenure on political theatrics rather than meaningful governance.”
AAJ concluded, “Kwarans deserve better, and at the appropriate time, they will make that judgment decisively. It is therefore unacceptable that, instead of addressing these urgent priorities, some choose to cling to narratives that have already collapsed under the weight of facts. Let it be understood: Kwara cannot and will not be held hostage by propaganda. Those who seek relevance through distortion should be reminded that the people of Kwara are discerning, informed, and focused on progress, not distractions. The path forward is clear: leave behind the politics of falsehood and face the real work of governance.”
