Stakeholders Back Toba Oloyede for House of Reps Seat, Cite Grassroots Roots and Broad Acceptance

A coalition of stakeholders from Irepodun, Isin, Oke-Ero, and Ekiti Local Government Areas has thrown its weight behind the aspiration of Otunba (Dr.) Toba Oloyede for the House of Representatives seat representing the Irepodun/Isin/Oke-Ero/Ekiti Federal Constituency ahead of the 2027 general elections.

In a lengthy collective opinion released by community leaders, elders, youth representatives, women groups, professionals, and grassroots stakeholders across the constituency, the group described Oloyede as “a candidate genuinely formed by the constituency and prepared for purposeful representation.”

The stakeholders said their endorsement was based on years of observation, consultations, and assessment of the political landscape within the constituency.

According to the statement, Oloyede’s strength lies in his deep roots within the constituency, his longstanding political engagement, and his broad acceptance across the four local government areas that make up the federal constituency.

“We are united in this opinion that the aspiration of Otunba (Dr.) Toba Oloyede to represent our federal constituency in the House of Representatives is worthy of the support and endorsement of every stakeholder who desires the best for our people,” the statement read.

The group noted that Oloyede was born, raised, and educated within the constituency, arguing that his personal experiences give him a deeper understanding of the developmental challenges confronting the area.

They added that his background and familiarity with the realities of the communities distinguish him from politicians who merely approach the constituency during election periods.

According to the stakeholders, Oloyede’s educational upbringing within the constituency has shaped his passion for improving schools and expanding opportunities for young people across the four local government areas.

They also praised his relationship with traditional institutions, noting that he has maintained strong ties with royal fathers, community leaders, and traditional councils over the years.

The stakeholders described his conferment with the title of Otunba as evidence of the confidence and respect he enjoys among traditional institutions in the constituency.

The statement further highlighted Oloyede’s political journey since 2011, describing him as a loyal and consistent party man who remained committed through different political seasons.

“Through difficult periods and changing political dynamics, he remained loyal, active, and committed to party structures and grassroots engagement,” the stakeholders stated.

They argued that his years of political involvement have helped him build relationships and trust across the constituency, making him one of the most recognisable political figures within the federal constituency.

The stakeholders also emphasised what they described as Oloyede’s wide acceptance across Irepodun, Isin, Oke-Ero, and Ekiti local government areas.

According to them, communities across the constituency view him as accessible, community-oriented, and genuinely interested in grassroots development.

They said his engagement with women groups, youth organisations, community associations, religious leaders, and grassroots political stakeholders has strengthened confidence in his aspiration.

The coalition further stated that Oloyede possesses the political experience, constituency-wide relationships, and leadership qualities needed to provide effective representation at the National Assembly.

They urged political stakeholders and party members across the constituency to support his aspiration in the interest of unity, inclusive representation, and sustainable development for the constituency.
