Afrobeat musician has recalled how his late mother, Fehintola Kuti, once hid cannabis inside a loaf of bread and asked him to deliver it to his father, the late Afrobeat legend , while he was in detention.
Speaking during a recent interview, Seun said his father was being held at the Federal Investigation and Intelligence Department (FIID), Alagbon Close, Lagos, at the time of the incident.
According to him, he was unaware that the bread he was asked to hand over to his father contained cannabis, popularly known as “Igbo.”
“We were going to visit my father at Panti, and my mum bought bread to give to him. She hid ‘Igbo’ inside the bread and asked me to hand it over when we got there,” he said.
Seun said he only realised much later what had been concealed in the bread, describing the incident as one of the memorable experiences from his childhood around the late music icon.
