The lawmaker representing Kwara Central Senatorial District, Senator Saliu Mustapha, has declared that the remains the dominant political force in Nigeria and Kwara State, describing the ruling party as “the party to beat.”
Mustapha, who holds the traditional title of Turaki of Ilorin Emirate, stated this on Tuesday after receiving a rousing welcome from supporters, party faithful and admirers upon his arrival in Ilorin ahead of the Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
The senator’s convoy was accompanied by a large crowd from the airport through major roads in Ilorin to the palace of the Emir of Ilorin, where he paid homage to the monarch, .
Speaking with journalists at the palace, Mustapha described the massive turnout as a reflection of genuine love and support from the people of Kwara State.
“I am so happy to come home and be received in this manner. It is a sign of true love from the people of Kwara. Money cannot buy this; it is the will of Allah,” he said.
The senator expressed confidence in the strength of the APC, maintaining that a united party remains unbeatable in the state and across the country.
“The APC is the party to beat. A united and strong APC cannot be matched by any political party in Kwara State. I see great prospects for the party as we continue to support the good work already started by both the state and federal governments,” he added.
At the palace, the Emir of Ilorin commended Mustapha for his loyalty to the Emirate and dedication to the welfare of his constituents.
“We are proud of you,” the monarch told the senator, while praying for wisdom, strength and success in his service to the people.
